Burning Test
1 NITRILE (NBR)
:
It burns with sooty flame leaving untolerable smell.
2 EPDM
:
Burns readily with sooty flame leaving dry and waxy odour.
3 BUTYL (IIR)
:
Burns readily with phenolic odour and if colour tested with pyrolysate, it will give positive test.
4 NEOPRENE (CR)
:
It burns with sparkling flame with HCL odour and if tested with copper (Heat the copper and touch to the sample) the flame will grow green.
5 FLUOROCARBON (FPM)
:
It burns and leaves acrid HF odour and it can be easily found out of his high density than other rubber
6 NATURAL RUBBER (NR)
:
It burns continuously and become sticky and give Black Path to the holding portion.
7 POLYURETHENE (AU.EU)
:
It burns and melts leaving drops continuously.
8 SILICONE (Q.MO.MVQ)
:
It burns with white flame and giving white smoke. (No other rubber give white smoke) & smelling Bitter Almond.
